The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum’s website underwent a significant transformation to enhance the public’s access to a vast collection of presidential records and educational resources. This project, a collaboration between Threespot and Inclind, tackled the outdated website’s limitations by adopting Drupal 8 for content management and Elasticsearch for advanced search capabilities. The upgrade focused on improving user experience, making the site more intuitive and user-friendly, thus facilitating more straightforward navigation and access to information.

The redesign was a technical overhaul and a strategic enhancement of the website’s visual and interactive elements. It emphasized a modern, accessible interface that reflects the legacy of President Reagan, with a focus on responsiveness to ensure compatibility across various devices. This approach significantly improved the ease with which educators, students, and researchers can engage with the content, highlighting the importance of design and functionality in digital archival projects.

By successfully marrying advanced technology with thoughtful design, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum’s new website serves as a benchmark in the digital presentation of historical records. This project exemplifies how digital strategies can effectively preserve and share historical knowledge, making it more accessible and engaging for a broad audience. The result is a platform that honors President Reagan’s legacy and sets a new standard for educational and historical websites.
